Stories of Chronic Pain

A new book idea was born recently when I realized that chronic pain is a clandestine world that a lot of people can't see or understand. I hope to explore and share the daily struggles and triumphs that my patients experience as they are coping with arthritis and autoimmune diseases throughout their lifetime. The author Isabel Allende referred to writing as a "testimony that might one day call attention to the terrible secret people were living through, so that the world would know about what was taking place parallel to the peaceful existence of those who did not know, who could afford the illusion of a normal life... that only blocks away there were others who live or die on the dark side."
